A fun indoor activity: Q&A with the kids!

Each year I try to ask the kids random questions and record their answers. It is always a sweet thing to look back on. Some years I see the reminder on my calendar to ‘ask the kids yearly questions’ but we are too busy and I never get around to it.

This year that is not the case and today was the perfect day to sit down and ask these questions.

Jenna- 11
Samuel – 10
Liam – 8
Evelyn – 7
Inga -5
Ben -3

1. If you won a million dollars, what would you buy??
Jenna – I would save it and live on the interest
Samuel – It depends what age. Age 10 – I’d save it for college. Age 16 – a car. Age 25 – a house.
Liam- I’d give it away
Evelyn – a house
Inga – lol dolls
Ben- a lot of trucks

2. How long does it take to get to the U.K.?
Jenna – about 24 hours
Samuel – It depends on where you are leaving from. Do you want the answer in hours or in feet or miles or meters? What is the mode of transportation? You need to be more specific.
Liam – 15 hours
Evelyn – a few hours
Inga – Why are you asking me this?
Ben – the floor is lava

3. What does Mom always say to you?
Jenna -Do you know how much we love you?
Samuel – It depends on what I’m doing. When I’m being annoying you say stop and when I’m not being annoying you say good job.
Liam – stop breaking things
Evelyn – I love you
Inga – Make good choices
Ben – I love to the moon

4. What job would you like to do when you get big?
Jenna – pediatrician and a mom
Samuel – engineer and a NFL player
Liam – neurosurgeon
Evelyn – be a surgeon and a momma
Inga – fart
Ben – make marshmallows

5. What is the capital of America?
Jenna – Washington DC
Samuel – Washington DC- everyone knows that
Liam – Washington DC
Evelyn – Washington
Inga – Stop asking me dumb questions please. What? I said please.
Ben – mommy

6. Where do babies come from?
Jenna – God
Samuel – God
Liam – momma
Evelyn – either adopted or a belly
Inga – bellies
Ben – the doctor

7. At what age do you become an adult?
Jenna – 18
Samuel – Legally it’s 18, but you’re not really an adult until you’re 26 or so. And some people never grow up even if they are almost 40.
Liam – 26 or 28
Evelyn – 20
Inga – I am an adult
Ben – mommy

8. If you could change one rule your family has, what would it be?
Jenna – Nothing. I love everything about my family.
Samuel – To be able to buy whatever I want – actually I wouldn’t change anything
Liam – That we would have twins
Evelyn – I wouldn’t change anything
Inga – That these questions would be done.
Ben – Mommy

9. If you could be a superhero, what superpower would you have?
Jenna – the ability to have all the superpower in the world
Samuel – all of the superpowers
Liam – I need to think about it
Evelyn – to be like my mom
Inga – an lol doll
Ben – goldfish man

10. What would you do to save the planet?
Jenna – I’d travel back in time and tell Eve to not eat the apple.
Samuel – stop littering and pray more
Liam – no clue – there’s too much work to do to save the planet
Evelyn – get everyone and fly away
Inga – eat butterfingers
Ben – Jesus

11. If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Jenna – Soup
Samuel – I don’t know
Liam – Steak
Evelyn – Pizza
Inga – Brownie. Can I have a brownie for breakfast, Karla?
Ben – Jesus

12. How much does it cost to buy a house?
Jenna – around $300,000
Samuel – it depends on the location and the size of the house
Liam – 20 grand
Evelyn – $1000
Inga – 10 dollars
Ben – 5 dollars

13. Why do you think we should be nice to others?
Jenna – You never know what someone is going through
Samuel – Because the bible tells us to
Liam – Because the devil wants is to be bad so we need to be good
Evelyn – So they won’t be mean to you back
Inga – Because if they hit we don’t do it back…even though you want to.
Ben – Jesus

14. What does love mean to you?
Jenna – It means caring about someone else more than yourself
Samuel – To be nice
Liam – A lot. I love Norm.
Evelyn – To love everyone in my family
Inga – We marry people
Ben – Mommy

15. What are you scared of?
Jenna – Losing my family
Samuel – Snakes
Liam – Nothing really
Evelyn – Nothing
Inga – Monsters and clowns
Ben – Dinosaurs and tornadoes

16. What is important to you?
Jenna – My family and all the good things in my life
Samuel – My family and collectibles
Liam – My family
Evelyn – My family and Jesus
Inga – lol dolls – are we done yet?
Ben – Mommy and Jesus
